2018 SASKI Week
The 2018 SASKI Week and SA Interschools Championships will be held at Falls Creek Alpine Resort, Victoria from Sunday 15 July to Friday 20 July 2018
SASKI Week is the name given to the week in which the SA Interschools Snowsports Championships are held. It’s not just a race, it is South Australia’s special week at Falls Creek, where the activities in the village celebrate SA skiing and snowboarding and the people from SA who love their snow sports!
Any child registered at a South Australian primary or secondary school is welcome to participate, either as part of a family holiday or on their school snow trip.
Falls Creek Resort is going above and beyond to make a trip to the snow memorable for South Australian families and schools. The South Australian Interschools Snowsports Championships forms part of the National Interschools Program. Winning a podium position at the SA Championships could see you or your team qualify for the National Interschools Championships, which will be held in early September at either Mt Buller, Vic or Perisher, NSW.
There are many amazing discounts, special events and loads of fabulous fun to be had during this special week in the July SA school holidays. Race participants, their families, their teachers and SASKI members receive generous discounts on many things including: HALF PRICE resort entry for the week, lift, lesson and equipment hire packages, food and beverages and other services.
This event is very inclusive, welcoming beginners to advanced skiers. The race courses provided by the very experienced team at Falls Creek Race Department are designed for any skier or boarder, whether they are an absolute beginner or have advanced skills, to have fun and race down the course at their own pace.
SO HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?
AND HERE’S WHAT PREVIOUS ATTENDEES THINK
“SASKI Week – not just a ski trip! Our family has been attending SASKI week for 11 years. The children were very small when we started and had no experience at skiing, but they loved it. Although we have skied as a family in other countries and at other resorts, we make SASKI week a priority every year. It is not just about skiing – the kids have more fun during SASKI week because there are lots of other kids to be with, activities provided by SASKI and the challenge of the races. It is also very reasonably priced. Each year I book early (with the help from booking agents on mountain) and invite families to share apartments – the result is affordable accommodation and a whole bunch of instant companions for the kids which leads to more fun for everyone. Adults have time together while the kids keep each other entertained. Our group of families this year is very diverse with children of different ages from many different schools, but in some previous years we have invited families from our Children’s school to join us and have been able to form teams – this adds an extra dimension of enjoyment to our ski holidays, one the kids ask for again and again.”
