We stumbled across the brand new Point Turton Playspace these school holidays just in time for its opening in December 2018.
The park is located on The Esplanade at the entry of the town (if you’ve reached the caravan park you’ve gone too far)
The playground section of the park includes nature themed play equipment including:
Timber frame swings
Lots of wooden climbing and balancing logs and structures
Wooden play “kitchen”
Another great feature of this park is the bike track built into the hill above the park. Kids will love cutting laps around this track, and you can then take a nice flat ride along the beachfront afterwards
Although there are no shade sails over the playground itself (yet?) there is a large undercover picnic area and also a number of small shelters around the perimeter of the park for shade. There’s also a nice big tree at one end of the park with some block seats for mums and dads to sit and watch.
There are also public toilets available onsite.
It’s a small playground but it’s a good one. If you need a pit stop on a car trip or staying in one of the surrounding Yorke Peninsula towns pop in for a play!
