Devdan Show – Bali
Last month on our trip to Bali we were invited to go and check out the Devdan Show at Nusa Dua Theatre.
I have to admit, this isn’t something we’d normally do on holidays, it kinda seemed a bit touristy at the time, but honestly it was great! It was way different and way better than I imagined.
I took my 5 year old and she was on the edge of her seat for almost the entire 90 minute show, she even got to go up on stage at one point which was pretty exciting for her.
Devdan Show: Treasures of the Archipelago is a show about the wonders and history of Indonesia. Narrated by a young boy and girl the show tells the story of some of the different regions including Bali, Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan and Papua. There’s Balinese ceremonies in traditional costumes, all sorts of dancing, music, drumming, singing, fire twirling and some really amazing acrobatics that I was not expecting. It’s funny, it’s impressive, it’s very entertaining and very professional!
I would suggest the show is suitable for kids over 5 but it is a late show, running from 7:30pm to 9:30pm every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday. If you have younger kids and they’re not great after bedtime this might not be the one for you.
Devdan Show is managed by the same company that own the Grand Mirage Resort and Samabe Villas in Nusa Dua and if you’re staying with them you can get a special discounted price to see the show, otherwise tickets can be purchased online at www.devdanshow.com
There’s also quite often discounted tickets available online. At the moment you can get 35% off at Govoyagin here (available May 2018)
The Devdan Show has a 4.5 star rating on Trip Advisor and if you read the comments they’re full of people who went in expecting on thing, and came out very pleasantly surprised. It was an unexpected highlight of our trip and I’d definitely recommend it for a cultural activity to do while in Bali.
