Christmas Gift Ideas for 2018

By  |

Just in case your struggling with the Christmas shopping we’ve put together a list of some of our favourite products for 2018. There’s something here for all budgets and all ages so take a scroll through and you might be able to tick a few names off the list!

Gifts Under $25

Smiggle

For stocking stuffers, small gifts, secret santas or something that pretty much any kid under the age of about 12 will love, you can’t beat Smiggle. Gift starting from just a few bucks one of our favourite this year is the Stax on Erase Highlighter (seen above) that’s only $5.95! www.smiggle.com.au

Elmers Slime Starter Kits & Slime Glues

There is not a kid in SA who wouldn’t be well impressed with any type of slime kit or even just the ingredients and your permission to mix up a batch or two. We have found ‘Elmers Slime Starter Kits’ to be an awesome affordable gift that gives you a box complete with 9 items, enough to make a good couple of FAIL PROOF KID FRIENDLY slimes. It’s also washable, safe and non toxic. We picked a couple up this week at our local Woolies, often found also at Target or Spotlight and priced around the $15-$20 mark http://elmers.com

And on the topic of slime……..if you’re not into DIY check out Env’s Slime Factory. Two young Adelaide girls Erin and Victtoria have every sort of slime you could imagine and it’s all pre made and ready to go.  Take a look at their Facebook page to find out what markets they’ll be at before Christmas or get in touch to place an order and they’ll send it out.

Spot it

We’re getting right into this game called Spot It at our house. Rules are match one thing on your card to one thing on the middle card. Sounds a lot easier than it actually is! Super fun, and super funny!! Available from @australiangeographicshop

Wahu Australia Pool Toys & Games

Also great for the beach – what could be more Australian than swimming at Christmas? Wahu have a huge range of kids and adults toys, games and inflatable floats from around $15 – like old mate Roo Racer here! And you should see the GLOW range (but that might bump us over twenty bucks.) Wahu products are available at all leading retailers.

Name My Stuff
Drink bottles and lunchboxes might sound a bit boring BUT what about when they’re sparkly and personalised!
We love the Oasis range available in dinosaurs, lego bricks, outer space florals and more!

My Feelings Matter
A book for little people with big feelings. My favourite book for 2018. A beautifully written and illustrated book, it’s also a book that can HELP. My Feelings Matter uses child friendly pictures that show a different emotion or sense on each page and helps kids explain how they are feeling. We all know that kids are REALLY good at feeling ALL the feels…….but sometimes some kids can find it REALLY hard to actually verbalise those feelings, or communicate them to us. This book helps them to find the words to describe feelings like “bored” “scared” “all too much” “anxious” “happy” and more. Buy a copy online at www.sarastace.com

Be Calm Baby Teething Mitt
If you need a handy little gift for a baby these are great! My teething 5 month old is giving hers a very good work out! No more bending over to pick up thrown teething toys every 2 seconds, this one straps on to their hand. Genius! $24.95 online from www.becalmbaby.com.au

Gifts Under $100

Fairies Fairies Fairies

The Hahndorf Fairy Garden has got fairy gifts covered! My 6 year old was VERY happy with her fairy house gift last year……so much so that we’ve got her a 2nd one again this year. This is a really cute little shop to visit too and you can pick up everything fairy from a tiny toadstool chair to a solar powered fairy house.

Tesalate Beach Towels
These are a great idea for teens and little beach lovers. Tesalate towels are like a giant chamois for your body. We love them because they dry super quick and don’t go soggy like a normal beach towel. They roll up super small (great for under the pram or in the nappy bag) and sand does not stick to them! (No more bringing the beach home with you)
They come in a range of very cool colours and designs and are available online at https://au.tesalate.com

Trunki

If you need to buy a gift for a little person who does a lot of travelling check out our fave ride on kids cases from Trunki. Hardest part about this gift is trying to decide which one to buy! Read our review here

New Kicks

Be it for kids, husbands or BFF’s – every one loves a new pair of sneakers! We are loving these junior NIKE Team Hustlers RRP$79.99, available from various major sport retailers https://www.rebelsport.com.au/kids/footwear

Funky Monkey Bars

If you follow us on social media you’ll already know how much we love our Funky Monkey Bars. Roxy has had hers for over 12 months, and Fleur recently surprised her kids with a set after seeing them at the Royal Show this year. Check out our full review to find out why we love them

Car Fridge

While choosing a size and brand is a really personal thing – if your significant others love day trips, camping or getting outdoors they would surely love this gift. It is a decent investment upwards of $500. We love the huge range and genuine, knowledgeable staff at SA Owned Snowys Outdoors, Richmond Rd Keswick www.snowys.com.au

Cart-a-Lot
We only just got one this week and we’re already in love. Cart a lot has just released their brand new model the MAXX. It can hold up to 100kgs, is pull or push, fits everything you need for a day at the beach, park or playground (including the kids) and is ON SALE right now at www.cartalot.com.au

QUADRO

If your kids are into building, climbing and inventing. Or if you’re after an outside toy they might not have seen before, check out QUADRO.
It’s a fully adjustable, very long lasting, construction kit for kids (mostly!). Best suited for kids aged 6+months, the beauty of QUADRO is the unique ability to easily create anything from a cubby house, race car, climbing frame and much more. And then tomorrow, you can change it into something completely different again!

Vuly Trampolines
We bought a cheap trampoline once, it was HUGE and for a while she LOVED it. Then about 9 months later, it stopped bouncing and started to fall apart and we were left with a completely useless pile of metal. Then we got a Vuly and yes it was more expensive but you only have to read a few of the reviews they get to understand why with trampolines you get what you pay for. If you want something that’s going to last……this is the one.
