Bandon Reserve, Marino

By  |

Bandon Reserve, Marino, is a large grassy area with a small playground and AMAZING views. Overlooking the beautiful coastline of Marino, the reserve stretches out down a slope towards incredible ocean views. The reserve has a small playground, but is essentially a large grassed area, with a little hill in the middle of it (perfect for rolling down!). It’s ideal for active kids who want to kick a ball or play chasey games, or for a nice family visit to a playground for a picnic. We love it here- particularly the views.

Where? Carlton Terrace/Bandon Terrace Marino – see map at bottom of this page

Features:

  • A small playground
  • 2 sets of 2 swing sets (4 in total)
  • Picnic benches
  • 1/2 court basketball court- and the ring has a NET! (Only basketball tragics like me will know how awesome this is)
  • Cricket net
  • Lots of grass and trees to explore and enjoy
  • Plenty of parking along the streets, but no actual car park
  • The train goes past the top (Eastern end) of the reserve, which is pretty fun for the kids to watch

Things to know:

  • There are no shade sails over the playground or eating areas, but there is plenty of shade under the trees
  • NO toilets
  • There is no fencing at all around the reserve, however it is in a quiet area and the playground is towards the middle of the reserve
  • The playground itself is quite small so not great for large toddler parties
